JAMVANU

JAMVANU: a Gujarati word used to describe food, but also used as a verb to describe the act of coming together for a dinner gathering. Every few times a year, the whole family comes together and at the centre of this gathering is an abundance of food. Usually we help ourselves from the buffet-like set up, loading our plates up. Usually the plate is too small for the selection of shaak, atleast one or two rotli, some daal, salad, the sides and the sweet dish. Oh, and you'd always have to go back for seconds and a serving of rice!

We love bringing these stories to our supper clubs, along with the dishes that carry these little memories, giving each dish even more meaning. This was the very essence of our JAMVANU.
